The Lowdown on Stephen
Name?
Stephen Snoddy
Age?
Let’s just say I’m an aging rocker.
Favourite Music/Artist/Track?
One of my mates introduced me to Led Zeppelin and Alice Cooper when I was at primary school and that style of music has stuck with me ever since. The first band I ever saw playing was AC/DC in the Ulster Hall in 1979 with the late great Bon Scott singing – not a bad start to my concert going career! I’ve always liked most forms of rock music but don’t really have a favourite artist or track.
Favourite thing about Larne?
The Harbour
So what brought you to Chaine FM?
My brother-in-law (Stephen Craig) volunteered me! I have also done a lot of DJ’ing at various functions in the Olderfleet Bar but never had the opportunity of playing much rock music so I thought this was a good opportunity.
Who on the radio inspired you?
I always used to listen to Tommy Vance on the Friday Rock Show on Radio 1. He was a great presenter who introduced me to some great sounds and you could tell he had a real love for the music he was playing. I also used to listen to John Peel a lot in the 70’s and early 80’s. Not all his musical choices were to my personal tastes but he had real charisma and again his love for the music shone through.
Give us one embarrassing story about you?
Every Saturday night a new and better one emerges!
Whats your idea of a good night out?
A few beers and good company
Favourite drink?
A double!
Dream date?
The cheerleaders of the Dallas Cowboys
Favourite holiday destination?
I like visiting cities and Prague was a very fine place. When I was there a pint cost 20p and that added to the attraction!
In their own words:
Keep on rockin’ in the free world!
